I was born, raised, married and had my own family in northwestern Pennsylvania just south of Lake Erie. After many summer vacations with family and friends to the southern coast of North Carolina my husband and I decided we would be retiring to Pleasure Island because we just loved Carolina Beach, Kure Beach and Fort Fisher. Back in 2003 we decided we could not wait that long as retirement was too far off. We bought our Beach property that year, sold our northern home and headed south. Much to our surprise our son’s Michael, Jess and our daughter in law Kara relocated here a few years after. We are so blessed to have them living on the Island and enjoying this wonderful place we all now call home.
Pleasure Island has so much to offer, being surrounded by water, it is a boaters and fisherman’s paradise, the sense of community is simply amazing, and the friendly locals will make you feel so welcome.
