| 7th Annual Steve Haydu St. Patricks Lo-Tide Run This race is a tribute to two truly amazing men whose paths crossed in Carolina Beach. The 10K Run starts at Harper and Canal Sts, the 5K Run at 213 Cape Fear Blvd and both end on the beach in front of the Boardwalk. This is a Flat PR course with USTAF Certification. | Back to the Beach 2011 Car Show Sun Coast Cruisers present their annual Car Show Preview and Cruise. On Friday, April 1 cars line up at Food Lion parking lot at 7pm and cruise down to the Fort Fisher Recreation Area. Saturday we will display plenty of vehicles at Fort Fisher Recreation Area. This show is FREE to the general public. Registration is from 8am until noon opens to the public at 9am. Come on down and see all types of cars and trucks. This is a rain or shine event. | Island of Lights Fashion Show Fashions featured will be from Island Colors, Linda's Fashions and the Unique Boutique. Lunch will be catered by Thyme Savor Catering, and there will be a Silent Auction and Raffle. | Pleasure Island Chowder Cook-Off, 15th Annual Attendees can enjoy and vote on chowder from various restaurants and groups. In addition to serving up the area's best chowder, this daylong event includes live music and the Kidz Zone which will have face painting, balloon art, giant inflatable slide and more. There will also be fudge, hotdogs, funnel cakes, luna pops, pizza, bloom'n onions, soft drinks and beer and wine for sale. (No coolers, no pets please!).
