Public workshops on Comprehensive Greenway Plan

The Wilmington/New Hanover County Comprehensive Greenway Plan continues to progress. The 'draft' plan is posted on the project website (link below) and includes a comment form for citizens to give feedback. Public workshops will be held from 4-7 pm at the following locations:

Sept. 11th - Wilmington City Council Chambers (310 Chestnut St)

Sept. 12th - Carolina Beach Town Hall/Recreation Center, 1121 N. Lake Park Blvd.

Sept. 13th - Ogden Elementary School, 3637 Middle Sound Road

These public workshops are a very important part of the planning process before adoption. All interested persons are encouraged to attend.

Change in hours for County libraries

New Hanover County has announced that weekday hours of operation have been expanded at the Carolina Beach Library from half days to full days from 9 am to 5 pm Monday - Friday; and 9 am to 1 pm on Saturdays. In addition, on September 9th, 2012, three branches of the Public Library will open on Sundays from 1 - 5 pm: Main, Northeast and Myrtle Grove.

Notice of time change for P&Z October meeting

The Planning and Zoning Commission meeting on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 will begin at 6:30 pm instead of 7 pm as per their normal schedule. This is one time change only for the month of October.
